Dufry opens the doors to its new Helsinki Duty Free store in Finland
The new store is located in the ‘Plaza’ area of the newly refurbished west wing of the Non-Schengen terminal at Helsinki Airport
Dufry opened the doors to its new ‘Helsinki Duty Free’ store this morning, following the official opening ceremonies yesterday.
The new Helsinki Duty Free store is located in the ‘Plaza’ area of the newly refurbished west wing of the Non-Schengen terminal at Helsinki Airport and is part of a wider development of the airport’s Non-Schengen side, due to open in several phases until the completion of the project this summer. The airport’s development program will continue beyond this and will eventually also cover the Schengen side of the terminal.
The new store’s striking Nordic design delivers a strong “sense of place”, with a polished, fresh feel and covers just over 300m2, an area slightly larger than the existing Schengen store in the Finnish airport’s Terminal 1. The main passenger profile at this store are those travelling to the Far East and Asia, especially China.
Helsinki Duty Free offers a large range of products from the traditional core categories including premium international brands and a selection of the finest local brands.
To mark the occasion, included in the Liquor offer is Helsinki Airport’s first exclusive whisky; a 1998 McKillops Choice from the renowned Bowmore distillery. The whisky will remain exclusive to the new store for the opening, after which it will also be available in other key stores at the airport. A total of 156 bottles are available, priced at €220. Five have already been reserved.
Helsinki Duty Free opens alongside other local-brand retailers and a new Asian restaurant, with other retail and F&B additions to follow.
