World Duty Free has partnered with Glen Garioch®, one of Scotland’s oldest whisky distilleries, for a limited-edition expression that will only be available at Aberdeen Airport, just 14 miles away from the Glen Garioch distillery nestled in the quaint and historic market town of Oldmeldrum.
Distilled on 9th September 1997, Cask 91 has spent over two decades patiently maturing in first filled bourbon barrels.
Having only been bottled in May, this unique whisky will be available to purchase exclusively via World Duty Free at Aberdeen Airport. The 21-year-old expression evokes notes of custard cream with a sweet and creamy taste with a lingering vanilla finish. The custard cream, stone fruit and malt flavours lead to caramelised peanuts, peppermint and eucalyptus with an oaky vanilla finish.
With only 188 bottles available to purchase, this rare and sought-after liquid will no doubt appeal to whisky lovers from the 8,000-contingent descending on North East Scotland for Aberdeen Offshore Europe 2019, one of the biggest trade events in the calendar for the oil industry at the time of the launch.
