Dufry Group has opened a new on-trend food court in Terminal 1 at Rome Fiumicino airport, offering travelers an exciting selection of cuisines, from Japanese-Brazilian fusion through to a sparkling bar.

The opening consolidates the company’s presence in one of the main airports in Italy, in terms of flight connections and passenger numbers, showcasing their discerning approach to creating memorable and surprising travel dining experiences. “Following the outcome of a competitive procedure in which some of the main operators in the sector participated, our presence in Rome Fiumicino airport is further consolidated. It is one of the most important gateways to Italy, and has expanded considerably in recent years, increasingly employing technological innovations”, commented Massimiliano Santoro, CEO F&B Italy at Dufry.

“Aeroporti di Roma awarding us this contract bears witness to the company's path of growth and development, which focuses on innovation and research, the enhancement of gastronomic excellence and attention to consumer tastes, continually investing in the creation of concepts that satisfy any type of need, in all travel channels”, continued Luca D'Alba, General Manager of Autogrill Italia.

The food court, one of three that the company operates across Terminals 1 and 3 of Rome Fiumicino airport, includes four concepts that promise to satisfy the most varied tastes of travelers: the Japanese-Brazilian restaurant Temakinho, the casual dining restaurant Sophia Loren for a break with a Neapolitan flavor, Alemagna café for those who want to savor an Italian espresso, and the Berlucchi Franciacorta Sparkling Bar, where you can enjoy a glass of Franciacorta from the iconic company.

Temakinho

Temakinho, this famous restaurant specializing in Japanese-Brazilian cuisine, brings the exotic and refined taste of its dishes to Rome Fiumicino – following its successful opening by the company in Milan Linate – in an environment with a contemporary design. The welcoming and modern space, the music and the colors create a rewarding experience for all five senses.

Sophia Loren Restaurant

Sophia Loren is a casual dining restaurant designed to offer travelers the flavors of authentic Italian – principally Neapolitan – cuisine, also through the symbolic image of Italian spirit in the world, Sophia Loren. With a refined and quality offering, the concept recalls Italy’s Dolce Vita, inviting passengers to a glamorous environment that includes a fresh oyster bar.

Alemagna

The historic Autogrill brand, Alemagna coffee and pastry, combines tradition and excellence with creativity and innovation, presenting itself to consumers as the ideal place to enjoy the pleasure of an excellent Italian espresso accompanied by sweet aromas of pastry or sandwiches with a delicate filling.

Following the opening of Alemagna Milan Linate, the company has opened the concept at Rome Fiumicino airport, designed according to the Green Store Guidelines and the LEED protocol to reduce water and electricity consumption, proposing a complete and innovative restyling of the historic brand.

Berlucchi Franciacorta Sparkling Bar

In partnership with Guido Berlucchi, the winery that produced the first bottle of Franciacorta in 1961, the company has developed a completely new wine bar format for Rome Fiumicino passengers, who can enjoy an excellent glass of Franciacorta accompanied by cold or hot dishes prepared with select, fresh ingredients. Presented in a refined space created with natural materials, the Berlucchi Franciacorta Sparkling Bar also boasts a signature menu, curated by the celebrated chef Gennaro Esposito.
