Official Launch for Melbourne Duty Free by Dufry
Yesterday marked the official opening for Dufry’s newly refurbished store in Terminal 2 at Melbourne airport. The fully walkthrough store has been rebranded ‘Melbourne Duty Free by Dufry’ and with 2,743sqm of retail space is 30% larger than the original store it replaces.
Melbourne, 16th November 2017. - This is the second of Dufry’s New Generation Stores to be opened and it offers a new, world class duty free retail concept to customers. First and foremost, the store is designed to make the shopping experience a fully immersive one that surprises, delights and adds real excitement to the store visit. The latest technologies are utilized in an innovative way throughout the store space to enable increasingly targeted and relevant communications to be delivered to customers. Screen content adapts hourly to match the passenger profile and different products are showcased throughout the day, so that the most relevant ranges are shown to the particular passenger demographic at any given time. Additional and enhanced in store experiences such as bottle engraving and product personalizations help make shopping experience both special and unique.
Dufry is committed to conveying a true ‘sense of place’ in all its stores. Three different screen visuals - played sequentially in the morning, daytime and evening - were developed specifically for the store and convey in high definition and vibrant imagery, the different sights that can typically be seen in and around the city, which are displayed through the next generation digital screens which play a key part in creating the store’s fully immersive ambiance. .
The store introduces a vast array of new iconic brands and new products for customers including Tiffany fragrance, Jo Malone London, Tom Ford cosmetics and Urban Decay in beauty, Emporio Armani, Longines, Skagen and Daniel Wellington in watches and an extensive range of desirable and premium Australian brands such as Emu Australia, Catherine Manuell Design and Rosien skincare to name but a few.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was hosted by Julian Diaz CEO - Dufry, José Antonio Gea, COO - Dufry, Andrea Belardini, Divisional CEO – Dufry and Ken Tse General Manager - Dufry Australia, along with Lyell Strambi, CEO – Melbourne Airport and Andrew Gardiner, Retail CEO – Melbourne Airport.
