Dufry wins new contract to operate at Norwich airport
Dufry signed a new contract to manage the tax and duty free store at Norwich airport. This is a new airport win for Dufry and the agreement runs for 12 years.
Redevelopment work is now virtually complete with an anticipated opening date of 9th June 2018. The new walkthrough store covering in excess of 200m² will offer an extensive product mix across all categories and take the airport shopping experience to another level for the 500,000 passengers who use the airport annually.
Norwich airport is part of Regional and City Airports (RCA), the airport management division of Rigby Group plc, which also owns and operates Coventry Airport, Exeter Airport and Bournemouth Airport. Dufry already operates the travel retail stores in both Exeter and Bournemouth under its World Duty Free brand.
Commenting on the successful bid, Fred Creighton, Dufry’s Divisional CEO for UK and Central Europe said, “We would like to thank the partners of RCA for the trust they have placed in us and are delighted to have won this new contract at Norwich Airport. RCA is one of the most innovative regional airport operators in the UK and we look forward to working with them to realize their vision for a new retail experience at Norwich airport.”
