Dufry renews its concessions contracts at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap International Airports and is awarded additional retail space

Based on the new agreement, Dufry will continue to operate duty free retail at both airports until 2020. Dufry has also been awarded additional retail space of 1,670 square meters, increasing the overall retail space at both airports by more than 100%.
On October 2, 2014, Dufry signed an agreement with Cambodia Airports to renew its duty free retail contracts at Phnom Penh International Airport and Siem Reap International Airport, in Cambodia, until 2020. Dufry currently operates two duty free shops at Phnom Penh with a total area of 773 sqm of retail space and at Siem Reap two duty free shops with 571 sqm. The agreement also foresees that Dufry will enlarge its retail space by 1,670 sqm. After full refurbishment and expansion of the operations with a design inspired by Cambodian architectural elements, the result will be a walk through retail area.
In Phnom Penh, the expansion of the commercial area will be located at the arrival and departure area and the retail space will be doubled from 773 to 1,550 sqm. The same will happen for Siem Reap, where departure and arrival will be almost tripled, from 571 to 1,464 sqm. The combination of both airports will contribute with more than 100% additional retail space to Dufry’s activities. The expanded retail space will allow Dufry to further enhance its comprehensive range of products, while offering its clients a unique shopping experience with additional international bestselling brands especially in the Perfume & Cosmetics, Fashion and Accessories assortment.
Dufry is the duty free operator since 2002 and has steadily grown the business. In the past, Dufry has invested continuously in modernizing and expanding the shops to adapt a dynamically growing market.
Phnom Penh International Airport is located in the capital of Cambodia and is the largest airport in the country. In 2013, the airport welcomed a total of 2.3 million passengers, an increase of 15% when compared to 2012. Siem Reap International Airport is Cambodia's busiest airport serving Siem Reap, a popular tourist destination due to nearby UNESCO world heritage Angkor Wat. It is the busiest airport in Cambodia in terms of passenger traffic. In 2013, the airport welcomed a total of 2.5 million passengers, an increase of 20.0% on compared to 2012.
