Madrid, 7th September 2017. - Since the beginning of September, Madrid T4 stores have a very special assistant: Pepper is a new humanoid robot whose functionality and programing has been developed by the company Robotrónica for World Duty Free, with the purpose of introducing passengers who pass through the terminal to the RED by Dufry loyalty program and inviting them to register as members, using its integrated tablet.

A fun and innovative way to promote products and services: in addition to receiving information, passengers will be able to interact with the robot, who has the ability to identify the voice of the person speaking to it, recognize the speaker’s responses, and initiate a conversation with them about the loyalty program offered in World Duty Free stores. The robot also interacts with passengers using its body, by moving its hands and using the screen as visual support of what it is saying.

An example of artificial intelligence at the service of people: Pepper has great potential as a promoter of the loyalty app RED by Dufry, as it is able to give information regarding the program in two languages - Spanish and English – and using its wifi-connectivity, offer direct registration to the program. In the meantime, the assistant who accompanies it can continue with organizational and coordination tasks, where human skills are irreplaceable.

People who join the RED by Dufry loyalty program will enjoy a number of exclusive benefits such as: a 5% discount for their purchases in World Duty Free stores (up to 10% if you are Platinum member), discounts in other establishments such as restaurants and hotels, or access to the VIP lounge when waiting at the airport, among others.

All passengers travelling through Madrid-Barajas airport Terminal 4 will be able to meet Pepper in the World Duty Free store: in Terminal 4S until September 13^th, and from September 14^th until October 2^nd in the Terminal 4 store.
