Following the successful introduction of the “Destination” concept in Brazil in 2016, Dufry inaugurated a space of 500 m² at the Terminal 3 departure area at São Paulo International Airport (GRU Airport), where products from premium local brands are offered. The store presents a strong sense of place with a wide selection of products from different categories like perfumes & cosmetics, confectionary, spirits, fashion, among others.

In this new shop concept, Dufry presents a selection of local brands and products to passengers who wish to purchase souvenirs or products made in Brazil, to take with them or for gifting. As this space is located in the departure area, it can be considered the "last call" to purchase this type of product.

The area presents unique concepts created to reproduce the atmosphere of the city of São Paulo in an environment that reflects its way of life referring to touristic and most popular sites of the city. Thus, each brand has its dedicated space and are represented by known city neighborhoods, for example, the area 'Oscar Freire' offers products from famous fashion brands, such as Farm, Lenny Niemeyer, Cia Maritima, Osklen, Havaianas, among others. In the 'Ibirapuera' space passengers can find products for pets and sports brands like Zee Dog and Penalty. In the area 'Avenida Paulista', souvenirs in addition to products of Natura brand can be found. In the 'Vila Madalena' space confectionery products are sold, such as Garoto chocolates and local spirits such as cachaças Leblon, Mata-Velha and Sagatiba, among others.

Dufry has been present in GRU Airport for several years and has a long term contract. The “Destination” shop will complement Dufry´s presence in Terminals 2 and 3 with duty free arrival and departure shops. It is worth mentioning that, following the expansion and with the aim of meeting the demands and desires of travelers, the electronic space inside the duty free shop at Terminal 3 has been recently expanded, and now covers an area of 235 m². The space aims to stimulate the costumer to try products and make the moment of purchase more interactive. In addition to the layout, tailored brand spaces, such as JBL, Bose and DJI, further enrich the interactive element of the store. The store also features a DJI flying area, the world leader in the drone segment, where customers are able to pilot them. Besides these spaces, new brands will be released soon, such as Garmin and Sonos.

Dufry offers the best selection of luxury items from various product categories with the international brands most coveted by Brazilian customers such as Johnnie Walker, Lindt, Carolina Herrera, Lancôme, Dior, Armani, Prada, Ray Ban, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, among others. Adding to its portfolio, Dufry also operates brand boutiques such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Montblanc, Victoria's Secret to name a few; with the Dufry Shopping megastore and Hudson stores, the company has a total of 34 stores with close to 15,000 m² of sales area.

GRU Airport is the largest hub in Latin America and received more than 37 million passengers in 2017, with a passenger flow estimated to reach 40 million in 2018.

Gustavo Fagundes, Dufry General Manager for Brazil and Bolivia, comments: "This new space is another successful accomplishment in our expansion project and partnership with GRU Airport. In this space, we aim to bring a sense of place to International and Brazilian travelers showcasing typical local brands in an exclusive retail environment. Upon leaving the country, they will have a unique shopping experience and be able to take part of Brazil with them through the products of the best and famous local brands. Dufry strong believes in the potential of the travel retail in Brazil and therefore we are introducing this concept that has already proven elsewhere to be hugely successful, to attract more passengers to our shops. Finally, we thank GRU Airport for this long standing partnership and, we trust to continue with many other opportunities and achievements together going forward."
