Dufry opens its latest ‘Dufry Shopping’ concept store in Goiânia, Brazil
Dufry has opened its newest Dufry Shopping store, the Duty-Paid Mega Store at Santa Genoveva Airport in Goiânia, Brazil.
Goiânia, 19th May 2017 - As part of its commitment and strategic plan to offer domestic passengers a similar shopping experience to the one enjoyed by international travelers, Dufry inaugurated its newest Dufry Shopping Duty-Paid Mega Store at Santa Genoveva Airport in Goiânia, Brazil. The store has 381m² of commercial space, presented to travelers in the company’s emblematic walkthrough format.
As passengers journey through the store, they will be able to purchase products traditional to the Duty-Free concept, such as Perfumery and Cosmetics, Confectionery and Liquor, as well as Luxury and Fashion products including Sunglasses, Watches, Electronics, and Travel Essentials.
As in all Dufry Shopping stores, at Santa Genoveva Airport, domestic passengers are presented with the same retail excellence they normally find in international terminals, and renowned brands such as Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal, Jack Daniels, Lindt, Toblerone, Milka, Carolina Herrera, Lancôme, Dior, Ralph Lauren, Armani, Prada, SunGlass Hut, JBL, Calvin Klein all form part of the commercial offer in Goiânia.
The Dufry Shopping concept was first introduced in Brazil, in a pilot at Brasilia Airport in 2014. The success of the launch saw the concept expand to another 7 airports in Brazil, the Goiânia opening being the latest of these. Dufry has plans to continue expanding this concept in 2017 internationally.
The company's commercial offer also includes a Dufry Shopping store airside, opposite the domestic boarding gate and three Hudson stores, two in the restricted area of the boarding lounge, and one before security, making Dufry’s commercial space at Goiâna airport a total of 545 m².
Hudson is Dufry’s convenience store concept, offering passengers confectionery, soft drinks, personal care items, souvenirs, electronics and toys, as well as newspapers, magazines and books. Travel essentials have proven to be some of the products most wanted by passengers, and the store offers a wide range of items for travelers on-the-go, including snacks, neck cushions and headphones.
Hudson is the leader in airport convenience stores in the United States and Canada and is now also present in Brazil. The global expansion of this concept store is part of Dufry’s strategy to enter into markets with high domestic passenger volumes, in places where it is already present with its traditional duty free shops.
Santa Genoveva Airport in Goiânia - is located just 8 km from the city center. It is one of the busiest in Brazil. In 2016, approximately 3 million passengers passed through the terminal.
