Glasgow, 3rd November 2017. - World Duty Free recently launched a rare airport exclusive - Balblair 1991 Single Cask 013 - a Balblair Highland Single Malt, chosen and bottled specifically for its World of Whiskies store at Glasgow Airport.

Only 486 specially packaged bottles of this exceptional Single Malt will be available through the World of Whiskies store located within the main World Duty Free shop. This limited edition malt, which retails at £235.00 is bottled in 70cl bottles at 51.5% went on sale at the end of October.

Non Chill-filtered, nor Coloured the finished whisky is magnificent, the liquid is hot copper in appearance, a delicious example of Balblair.

The aroma is intensely sweet and oaky to start, with a generous layer of freshly ground spices and raisins, dark fruits of the forest floor, beeswax and custard. Rich and fragrant with marmalade, lemon peel oil and cooked pears, balanced by a heavier chord of sandalwood.

On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied and coats the mouth, the taste is rich with waves of bitter chocolate and candied orange peel, warming spices and a suggestion of brandy butter. Fleshy tropical fruits follow, lush and ripe.

The finish is unforgettable, characterised by toffee and spicy vanilla.

Cask number 13 was selected by World Duty Free and Glasgow airport from a selection of samples and is the first cask of this range to be bottled exclusively for World Duty Free at Glasgow air. This magnificent dram is presented in a striking grey display box, which pays homage to Balblair distilleries stunning Highland backdrop. There is a dedicated display of the cask at Glasgow Airport which will remain in situ while stocks last.
